New York Times Bestselling Author
Georgia Hunter is the New York Times bestselling author of We Were the Lucky Ones, the incredible true story of one Jewish family separated at the start of World War II. After discovering that she came from a family of Holocaust survivors during her teenage years, Hunter embarked on a journey of intensive research, determined to unearth and record her family’s remarkable story. The result was the beloved debut novel that has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, been published in over 20 languages, and was adapted for television by Hulu as a highly acclaimed limited series.
Her latest book, One Good Thing, returns to the same era in history in an unforgettable story of hardship, hope, courage, and resilience. Following the journey of two best friends through Nazi-occupied Italy in 1940, the novel is a remarkable tale of friendship, motherhood, and survival. One Good Thing is a tender reminder that love for another person, even amidst darkness and uncertainty, can be reason to keep going. Of the new book, bestselling novelist Ariel Lawhorn raves, “One Good Thing is the rare second novel that surpasses all expectations. Once again Georgia Hunter proves herself to be a remarkable storyteller who brings to vivid life a group of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.”
Hunter is a freelance copywriter whose essays and photos have been featured in the New York Times Book Review and various travel magazines. When she’s not dreaming up her next work of historical fiction, she resides in Connecticut with her husband, two sons, and Aussie Shepherd, Dash.
